A pirate ship with a slide sits in a sandy play area at the eastern end of the Cuña Verde de Latina, a long park that runs through Los Cármenes and Lucero. Kids climb over the decks and come down the slide, and a viewpoint a minute's walk away looks across to the Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace.

The rest of the park adds ponds, rose gardens, Civil War bunkers and a bike lane end to end.
