Question 1

What time is the English session?

Accepted Answer

English (VOSE) sessions at Mooby Balmes run daily at 6:10pm from Friday, October 9 to Thursday, October 15, and you are out around 8:15pm. Mooby publishes about a week ahead, and we add new dates here as they appear. Look for the VOSE label when you book, that is the original English audio with Spanish subtitles.

Question 2

Does it follow the books?

Accepted Answer

It is a modern take. The family moves from the city to an old barn in the countryside, and the youngest, Fran, finds the tree first. Silky, Moon-Face, the Saucepan Man and Dame Washalot are all there, and the lands at the top include the Land of Goodies and the Land of Birthdays.

Question 3

Is it right for my kid's age?

Accepted Answer

The magic lands, giant sweets and silly characters suit kids from about 5, and there are a few tense moments rather than anything scary. At 110 minutes it is a full-length film, so it works best for kids who can sit through one.

Question 4

Is Wednesday a good day to go?

Accepted Answer

If your week is flexible, yes. Wednesday tickets are 6.50 euros for everyone, the cheapest day of the week at Mooby Balmes, and there is a 6:10pm English session on Wednesday, October 14. Kids under 13 pay 8 euros on any other day.

Question 5

Is there food at the cinema, or should we eat first?

Accepted Answer

There is a snack bar with popcorn and drinks, and Carrer de Balmes has cafes and casual spots a few minutes' walk away if you want a proper bite before the film.

Question 6

How do we get to Mooby Balmes?

Accepted Answer

Mooby Balmes is at the top of Carrer de Balmes near Plaça Kennedy, a short walk from the FGC Avinguda Tibidabo and El Putxet stops, with a parking garage in the building.
