How much is the ice rink?

In 2025-26 a rink ticket was €9.50, or €11.50 with gloves, which are compulsory. Walkers for beginners cost €3.50, subject to availability. Prices for 2026-27 aren't out yet.

Do we need to book ahead?

No, tickets are sold online and at the box office on the day; online tickets take you straight onto the ice. There are no refunds unless the organizers close the rink.

What should kids wear?

Long sleeves and sporty layers rather than a heavy coat, plus gloves. It's about 10 to 15°C (50 to 59°F) on the ice, and there are no lockers, so travel light.

What were the rink hours last season?

Weekdays noon to 10pm; weekends and holidays 10am to 10pm; Dec 24, Dec 31 and Jan 5 until 6pm.

What you need to know

About

Plaza de España turns into a Christmas village each winter: a 600 m² rink of natural ice under the Edificio España, about 40 wooden stalls of handmade gifts, and a food corner with chocolate con churros and German mulled wine. Families often browse and snack first, then decide on a skating turn. Double-blade skates strap onto small kids' shoes, so even preschoolers can try the ice.
