Do kids need to come with an adult?

Yes. Under-18s must come with a responsible adult. Pets are not allowed on the outdoor guided walks, apart from guide and service dogs.

What happens if it rains?

Outdoor sessions can be changed or called off when the weather is bad, so check with the center the day before.

What's the family workshop at the pumpkin party?

Two turns, at 10am and noon, for ages 8 to 12: families make decorative pumpkins from old fabric. Booking is required, and you bring old jeans, corduroy or sweaters, plus cotton T-shirts for stuffing.

Where is the full list of sessions?

The October to December program is a free PDF on madrid.es (linked below), and each center posts updates on its blog.

Hábitat Madrid is the city's season of nature activities, run from environmental centers in three big parks. Kids plant in a family vegetable garden, track animal prints, build bird feeders and join bird walks, all led by environmental educators. Each session has a set age range and needs booking, so it suits families who plan a few weeks ahead.
