What does the night look like?

Welcome at 8pm, activities until a picnic dinner at 10pm, more activities, lights out at midnight, breakfast at 8:30am and out the door at 9am.

Yes. The €32 is per person, so a parent and one kid pay €64. Food and drink aren't included.

On the floor of a gallery the educators assign, alongside the rest of the group. Bring a sleeping mat as well as a sleeping bag.

Is there a version without dinosaurs?

Yes. The animals sleepover follows the same format in the Biology building (the main building) on Oct 3, Nov 7 and Dec 12. This page covers the dinosaur nights in the Geology building.

What you need to know

Bring all your own food and bedding: picnic dinner and breakfast, sleeping bag, sleeping mat and a water bottle to refill. Nothing can be heated and there's no café or vending machine.
At least one adult per three kids, so plan who stays the night before you book.
Book five days ahead: sales close five days before each night, online or at the museum ticket desk.

About

A night inside the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales after the doors close. Kids spend the evening in science workshops and games in the Geology building, home to the dinosaur skeletons, then roll out sleeping bags on the gallery floor. It suits kids who are excited, not nervous, about sleeping away from their own bed. Expect a shared floor, a big group and an early start.
